Learning to Love Curly Hair!
All of my life, I've had some trouble with being content with my hair. I felt weird because my hair texture differed from the other girls in my classes. Most girls had straight hair. My parents were the only people I was around with curly textures. This seems vain but it took a toll on how I viewed myself. This feeling is common with many other black women and curly girls. Mainstream society tells us straight hair is preferred. I now have learned that my hair is perfect the way it is. My hair is very thick and has differing textures. This is thanks to my multiracial heritage. I used to straighten my hair a lot because I did not want to deal with it. Having more time in quarantine, I have been spending more time experimenting with my hair. I've gone through a few new routines and found key things that work.
